Details from Brian, Killer Whale's guitarist....
In April of 2004 my sister-in-law, Lori Martin Copson, entered the Christiana Care Hospital for what was supposed to be a normal hysterectomy procedure. She left the hospital in June after undergoing several major surgeries and many complications. While she was in the ICU she was told she had Acute Myelogenous Luekemia. She was back in the hospital the next four months for chemotherapy. A stem cell donor was found for her and on January 21st she had a Nonmyeloablative stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor. I am very happy to say that so far she is responding very well to the treatment and our family is hopeful that she is now on the way to recovering from what has been an incredibly difficult time for her.

As is often the case, medical insurance does not cover all things and as a result Lori is now facing some considerable medical bills. So our family and friends are hosting a benefit in her behalf on April 16th from 6 to 11pm at Aetna Fire Hall in Newark, DE in which we are expecting around 250 people. We are selling tickets for $25 per person in advance, $30 at the door. Food, beer and soda will be provided and there will be a cash bar for other drinks. As you may have guessed, entertainment will be provided by Killer Whale. Opening the show will be Acoustic Axis, a guitar duo featuring Rick Reader and myself. We've also begun lining up some musical guests who will be sitting in during the evening. There will be door prizes and a silent auction as well. We are also selling 50/50 tickets so if you cannot join us you can still help out.

I hope you can join us for this very worthy cause. To get tickets and additional information please contact my wife Sandy or myself at 302-836-0828.

Thanks,
Brian Lantz
